The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights
(CDHR), Ogun state branch has asked Ogun State Commissioner for works and
infrastructure, Arch. Lekan Adegbite to list out all the uncompleted road
construction projects of the state government.
The CDHR in a letter of reminder
directed to the Commissioner for works which was jointly signed by the
the state chairman, Com. Folarin Olayinka and his Secretary, Com.
Akinyode Okikiolu also requested for a copy of the contract awarding letter of
the 10-lane road at Abeokuta/Sagamu expressway.
The CDHR in the letter further requested for
the rationale behind the 10-lane construction, saying, that the construction is
in the expense of other road construction projects and rehabilitation which
have not been completed.
According to the letter, we requested
for a copy of the contract awarding letter for the 10-lane Abeokuta/Sagamu
Expressway road construction.
“We also requested for the rationale
behind the construction of the 10-lane road when other road construction
projects and rehabilitation have not been completed.
“We also sought to know the source of
fund for the construction of the 10-lane road and the copy of budget statement
for the construction of the road”, he said.
