Three APC Members Burnt To Death In Benue

According to Apiah Ephraims who shared the story on Facebook he penned

'Contrary to reports on the social media that three armed robbers were killed earlier today at Adikpo, a reliable source has just confirmed to me that the trio burnt by angry mob were not armed robbers as speculated but members of the All Progressive Congress APC from Mbadura council ward of Turan.'

According to the source, the trio identified as Denen Agber Kur, Sega Agber Kur and Jagba Uhembe were in Adikpo to escort sensitive materials for the APC primaries to their ward.

Upon reaching Adikpo and waiting for the distribution exercise to commence, the trio sat at a buruku joint near the Kwande APC Secretariat to sip the local brew.

It was at that point that robbers stormed a filling station in same location and after the robbers took off on motorbikes.

The trio, relatively unknown faces to the angry youth of the area became suspect and killed instantly and set them ablaze.

Buhari
Buhari
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said Nigerians would be shocked when President Muhammadu Buhari rolls out his record of achievements within two years on May 29.

The Deputy National Chairman (North), Senator Lawal Shuaibu, who made the statement when he received the Taraba State chapter of the party at the national secretariat, Abuja.

He said regardless of the minor internal wrangling, the APC was strong.

On the achievements of the party, he said: “I want to urge you to continue to be a little more patient. I want to emphasise that the reward will come in many ways including safety and ability to feed our families. Yes, the reward may not necessarily come into individual pockets, but as general benefits to the entire society. It is not going to come so fast but slowly.

“The President promised the nation that on the day he would clock two years, tremendous achievements must have been recorded. That even before he opens his mouth, Nigerians would start feeling them themselves. Let us give him that benefit of doubt.

“Let me reassure that we have started working and before May 29 when we will listen to the presidential broadcast, we would have seen the tangible achievements recorded already,” he quipped.

President Buhari Launches Nigeria Economic Recovery And Growth Plan | Photos

President Muhammadu Buhari has launched the Nigeria Economic Recovery and Growth Plan, ERGP, which seeks to restore the nation’s economic status following the high rate of inflation and recession.
The launch was undertaken shortly before the commencement of the meeting of Federal Executive Council, FEC, inside the Council Chamber, Aso Rock, Abuja on Wednesday.

The launch was attended by all cabinet members as well as top government functionaries including the national chairman of the governing All Progressives Congress, APC, John Odigie-Oyegun; Senate President Bukola Saraki; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; and chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, NGF, and Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari.
Mr. Buhari said his administration inherited numerous challenges at inception. He also said his campaign was based on the difficult situation that Nigeria was in and the need for enduring positive change.
The president said his administration is committed to delivering on the three key areas that he promised during the campaigns; which are to tackle corruption, insecurity and ensure economic growth.
“Security in the North East and other parts of Nigeria today is better than when we came in. Law enforcement agencies are prosecuting many cases of corruption and I assure all Nigerians that we are approaching our economic challenges in the same manner we are fighting insecurity and corruption,” he said.
The president said the ERGP focusses on agriculture with a view to ensuring adequate food security as well as energy, industrialisation and social investment.
He said the ERGP is an ambitious plan that seeks to achieve a 7 per cent economic growth by the year 2020. He said the aim is not just to remove the country out of recession, but to put it on the path of strength and growth, away from being an import dependent nation.

Be Ready To Face Justice For Violating Electoral Law APC — Tells Fayose

Ayodele Fayose
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has vowed to snatch power from Governor Ayodele Fayose as the 2018 poll draws nearer.‬

‪The party also declared that Fayose must be ready to face justice for allegedly violating the electoral law in the 2014 governorship election.‬

‪The state APC Deputy Chairman, Mrs. Kemisola Olaleye, who spoke on Tuesday at a rally organized by the party for members in Ado Ekiti Local Government said Fayose was being haunted by crimes allegedly committed against the constitution.‬

‪She said: “Fayose has been saying that he is about to be removed from office and we in the APC are saying a resounding amen to his prayer. We are taking over power from him and we are determined to chase him out of office. He is afraid of his own shadow.

‪”If he likes let him call thousands of press conferences. Ekiti people are tired of his government, civil servants, artisans, market women, youths, students, all of them are tired and they are waiting for APC to give them better life.”‬

APC Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, said Fayose was being haunted by the alleged crimes committed against the constitution, saying the governor must be ready to face justice.‬

‪He said: “Fayose is jittery and he is being haunted by his past as regards to the 2014 election which he knows was manipulated through the muzzling of civic power of the people, using military apparatus and enemies of democracy to foist himself on Ekiti people.‬

‪”Fayose is an agent of destabilization in the Nigerian federation; his past is haunting him. You will recall that he took on the Judiciary in the past by beating up judges in the temple of justice, tearing tearing court record.”‬

Glory Emeh Was A Mole Who Returned To The PDP Alone — Rivers APC

Despite restraining itself from dignifying the good riddance of Chief Glory Emeh who recently crawled back to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after his mission as a mole was uncovered, the Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, is however compelled to respond to the obvious kindergarten media propaganda Glory Emeh has been conducting in the media against the party.

The APC in a statement signed by its State Chairman, Chief (Dr) Davies Ibiamu Ikanya JP said not a few APC members knew that Chief Glory Emeh had hidden motives when he decided to leave PDP and join the APC a little over a year ago though the reasons he gave was his deep-seated dislike for the person of Gov. Nyesom Wike and his politics as against his preference for Dr. Dakuku Peterside’s style that tends to favour equity and fairness.

The statement noted that, “in less than 2 years of being accommodated in the APC, it became obvious to Chief Emeh that there were no secret activities by the APC that were worth spying upon and turning in to the PDP. Again, he could not get the kind of carte blancheticket to do whatever pleased him. The result was that long before he returned to the PDP, key members of the APC had known and started keeping a safe distance from him. Unknown to him, his meetings with the highest echelon of the Rivers State Government and the PDP were being carefully monitored.”

It reads: “When eventually Chief Emeh decided to beat a retreat back to the PDP, it only came as a surprise to just a handful. The APC hierarchy was well aware of his moves in advance. We were also aware of his efforts to lure a number of APC leaders and followers but they all rebuffed him. For the preservation of their persons, we will refrain from naming those APC members but we salute their stoic resistance to Chief Emeh. At the end, he could not even convince his relation and Personal Assistant (PA) to follow him to PDP.

“Since Glory Emeh returned to PDP empty handed and without anyone in tow, the only visible thing he has succeeded in doing is being in the front row with Gov. Wike at public events. The other things he has resorted to in order to shore up his well-known battered image in the eyes of his associates is attempts at portraying Rivers APC as being in disarray. This he is doing by planting falsehood in the local and national print media outlets.

“Yesterday (Tuesday), Chief Emeh caused to be published a news item and photo of obviously disorientated innocent villagers who did not know why their picture was being taken. He claimed that these hapless villagers were decampees from APC to the PDP in his village. This is the kind of propaganda Chief Emeh boasts about and claims to be an expert in. We wish him luck but we are convinced that he is not fooling anyone, not even his present PDP masters.

“The APC wishes to urge Chief Glory Emeh to leave APC alone as he relishes his new company. He did not and still is unable to take any APC members to the PDP. He lacks the clout, character and moral pedigree to so do. His empty boast that APC will soon be extinct in Rivers State is a cheap, pedestrian lie only meant to burnish his decrepit image and to please Gov. Nyesom Wike and PDP leaders.”

Lagos APC Members Fight Dirty Over Alleged Attempt To Impose Candidates For Lg Polls

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state have engaged in free-for-all brawl over an alleged attempt by the some leaders of the party in the state to return 19 local government chairmen as unopposed candidates in the forthcoming local government polls.

The brawl, which occurred at Ogba/Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), left several party members injured with three persons needing serious medical attention.

According to an eye-witness, most of the victims were agents of the party leaders who were opposed to the application of internal democracy in the selection of candidates the party would field in the polls, as aggrieved party members attacked them with plastic chairs and other dangerous weapons.

Some party members who spoke under condition of anonymity, said their grievances bordered on the blunt refusal of the leaders to grant the peoples’ wish of nominating their candidate through primary election.

He further revealed that a similar course of action in 2015 led to the loss of some local governments to the opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).

“They have started what led to the loss of some local governments in the 2015 elections to the PDP, because they do not want primary.

“We want members to freely elect whoever should represent them at the local government, but they don’t want popular people; they want to impose their preferred candidates. And, we will not agree to this evil plan.” he said.

Efforts to speak with the LG party chairman, Kelvin Ajakaye, proved abortive as at the time of filing this report. Similarly, an aide of the state Chairman of the APC, Otunba Henry Ajomale, who also witnessed the fight said he will only speak with journalists only when he obtains clearance from his principal.

Akeredolu Will Fulfill All Campaign Promises – Ondo APC

Rotimi Akeredolu
Rotimi Akeredolu

The All progressive congress (APC), Ondo chapter on Wednesday reassured the indigene of the state that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) would fulfill all his campaign promises.

The APC reiterated this in a statement in Akure by its Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Adesanya.
He promised prompt payment of workers’ salaries, job creation through industrialisation and agricultural revolution as well as peace and stability.

Reacting to the advice by the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) against creation of new local council development areas, Adesanya said: “Akeredolu will fulfill all electoral promises.”

PDP had warned the governor against his proposal to create new local council development areas out of 18 local government areas promised during Akeredolu’s electioneering campaign.

Adesanya stressed that there would be creation of local council development areas as promised by Akeredolu during campaign.

“Contrary to what played out during the last administration, APC-Akeredolu is poised to steer the state’s affairs in the right direction and also deliver the true dividend of democracy to the good people of Ondo State,’’ he said

Adesanya berated PDP for leaving behind a whooping debt of about N150 billion, eight months unpaid salaries of workers and several months of unpaid allowances and gratuities of pensioners.

“What moral justification has Ondo-PDP leadership to advise APC-Akeredolu’s government?”

“We view your advice as anti-developmental and evil against the people of the state.

“It’s a clear attempt to derail our government so as to create bottleneck and distraction for Akeredolu.

“The former government has no useful ingredient at its disposal to complement the efforts of this current administration,” he said.

2019Race: We Will Declare Free Education For All When We Take Over — PDP

The opposition party, PDP has promised to provide free education for all Nigerians when they return back to power in 2019 as they are making plans to defeat the ruling party, APC

The Chairman of the party in Adamawa State, Abdulrahman Bobboi while speaking with newsmen recently, lamented the "havoc" the APC-led government had done to Nigeria sine it assumed power in May, 2015.

He recalled that before the APC government led by President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office in 2015, a bag of rice was sold for N8,000 but now it had skyrocketed to N22,000.

He also recalled how a litre of fuel was sold for N87 but today, the story had changed as the product now goes for N145 per litre.

On what to expect if the PDP returned to power in 2019, the PDP chieftain said, “By the time PDP takes over in 2019, we will declare free education for all. The time PDP takes over in 2019 we will declare free education for all.

“Illiteracy is a major problem to any society and this government has made it difficult for Nigerians to have three square meals talk more of paying school fees.

“We are working with our economic team to develop models to jack up the revenue profile of the state when we take over.”

When asked about his party’s achivment after 16 years in power, Bobboi said, “During our time, we built about 12 universities in northern Nigeria; the Almajiri schools were built all over the country, all these were done to eradicate ignorance.

“It was a PDP government that established Adamawa State University, and during that time, the people of Adamawa enjoyed free education.”

"I Will Never Contest Against Buhari" — Tinubu

The Leader of All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, yesterday, vowed never to contest the Presidency against President Muhammadu Buhari.

He noted that a newspaper report to the contrary was conjured to put him at odds with the President.

In a strongly worded rebuttal to the news report by the daily, Tinubu affirmed his unwavering loyalty to Buhari, saying permutations of him defecting were ignorant of his consistent political principles.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu
The daily in its front page report, Tuesday, had alleged that Tinubu had stepped up plans to contest the presidential election, irrespective of Buhari’s intentions, saying he had pencilled down three possible running mates, including Governor Aminu Tambuwal, Senator Abu Ibrahim and Serikin Kano, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

Tinubu in his reaction issued by Mr. Tunde Rahman, his Media Assistant, said: “The story is a manufactured tale weaved by its authors to try to create division where there is none. Those who wrote this fantasy piece seek to place Asiwaju Tinubu at odds with President Buhari. Writing such a baseless report is a very foul and wrong thing to do.

Political outlook

“As long as that patriotic and committed man named Muhammadu Buhari holds and seeks to hold the mantle as our president, then Asiwaju Tinubu stands behind him in unwavering support and confidence.

“Asiwaju Tinubu remains faithful to the mission of progressive reform and change that President Buhari, he and the All Progressives Congress, APC, have started. Tinubu was instrumental in the formation and success of the APC.

“His toil and efforts helped establish this government. He is not one to tear down something he laboured so dutifully to build.”

Noting that the report aimed to skew the banter the APC leader had with reporters in Akure last weekend, he said the report “opted to gain false sensation by completely mocking the tenor of the brief banter Asiwaju Tinubu had with journalists at the inauguration of Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

“When asked about future political office, Asiwaju said he could not discount that possibility if the nation called upon him for such service, provided, he emphasized, that all political conditions were appropriate; particularly the office in question would have to be vacant, even if it’s local government chairmanship.

“In our political lexicon, this means the office is not held by a member of the APC in good standing. We all know this.

“Moreover, if you really listen to his words, Asiwaju did not mention any office or any time-frame. The conditions he mentioned may not become ripe for years to come and they might not pertain to the Presidency. In effect, all Asiwaju said was the position that any political figure would hold.

“As a politician, he cannot preclude the possibility of running for office in the future because no man knows what the future will hold. To translate this general statement of political reality into a tale that he is actively preparing for a 2019 presidential run is reckless in the extreme.”

No list of possible running mates

“Asiwaju Tinubu has not held any planning meetings for any such presidential campaign and is not contemplating any such meetings. He has no present list of possible running mates because he has no present intention of running.

“The headline also libels Asiwaju by asserting he was going to join the PDP. This is as shameless as a lie can be. Asiwaju is acknowledged to be the intellectual father and the driving force behind the APC.

“It makes no sense that he would abandon the party that he worked hard to build in order to enter the dilapidated building the PDP has become. Asiwaju worked for over 16 years to break the PDP yoke on the nation.

“After breaking that yoke, it is not in his nature to voluntarily place it back on our necks. Anyone who has followed his career, even his staunchest critics, knows Asiwaju for his partisan consistency.

“He is not a party hopper. He is loyal and sticks with the party to which he belongs.”

After fighting for so many years to elevate his party to the position of national leadership, he would not give that away in order to join with those who blame him for their currently bleak political circumstance.’’

Concluding that the newspaper had joined “with those who seek to put Asiwaju Tinubu at odds with our President,” he said: “This scam will fail. Asiwaju supports and stands behind President Buhari. He wishes the President well and that he returns soon. ‘’Whether the President is here or away, he has the full loyalty of Asiwaju Tinubu. President Buhari can rest assured on this point: Asiwaju Tinubu will never contest against him nor will he support anyone who does.”

We Reject Results You Declared For Etche/Omuma Inconclusive Elections – APC Tells INEC

The Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, has rejected purported results for Etche State Constituency and Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency Etche/Omuma rerun elections reportedly declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Sunday, saying that the “purported results are for the rerun elections that were earlier declared inconclusive by the Returning Officers, Prof. Olatunbosun Odusanya and Prof. Omotola respectively at the Okehi, Saturday. They had subsequently announced that the conclusion of the process would take place today (Sunday) or on Monday”.

The statement which was signed by Rivers State APC Chairman, Chief (Dr.) Davies Ibiamu Ikanya JP said, “wewere taken aback when it was reported that the National Electoral Commissioner in charge, Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu had ordered that the incomplete results be declared despite the earlier declaration by the two Returning Officers on Saturday at Okehi that the elections were inconclusive.”

The statement reads: “The APC vehemently rejects the results as declared today (Sunday) at the State INEC Office in Port Harcourt. This action by INEC runs counter and contradictory to earlier announcement on Saturday by the aforementioned Returning Officers who are the duly empowered persons to make such declarations. What INEC did today is a rape on democracy and the APC will surely resist it with every legal window available to it. INEC can only do what it did today because Gov. Nyesom Wike has, as usual, generously compromised key officials of INEC in Rivers State.

“The APC notes that despite the general outcry concerning Gov. Nyesom Wike’s interference in the electoral process, the governor physically held hostage a Returning Officer to force him announce results in a manner unbecoming of a governor. We condemn this and call on INEC leadership and security agencies to investigate this unfortunate incidence.”

“We recall that this same compromised INEC in Rivers State embarked on the now infamous 2015 elections which is unarguably the worst election in the annals of Nigeria. During the December 10, 2016 rerun that followed, INEC continued to exhibit unwarranted contradictions and unwholesome mishandling of the process which resulted in the further rescheduling of the rerun elections for Etche State Constituency and Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency. Sadly, INEC has, once again, bungled it.”

We Promised Change And It Has Come — Lai Mohammed

Alh Lai Mohammed, Minister for information and culture

Nigeria’s minister of information, culture and tourism Lai Mohammed has admitted that the ruling party was overwhelmed with the level of madness, indiscipline and impunity in Nigeria.

According to him, the party was not prepared for the level of rot the administration met on ground when they came into power in 2015.

He, however, claimed that the change the ruling party promised Nigerians has started manifesting.

Speaking in an interview with Sun newspaper, he said: “Let’s look at it, number one, we promised change and that change has come. There is change today from impunity to accountability and it means a lot. There is a change today from corruption to integrity, it means a lot.

“There is a change today in the way people view corruption than the way they use to view it before. You will never live your flamboyant lifestyle again. In 2014 or thereabout when the former President went to Kenya, there were about 100 private jets that went with him.”

“What we did not know was the level of dirt and rottenness, the level of dirt and corruption is what we did not get. We knew things were bad but we did not know things were these bad. We did not know before we came in that there was no savings at all, we did not know before we came in, the madness and scale of indiscipline and impunity.

“ So if anybody says we are overwhelmed, yes we are overwhelmed but not by the work but by the level of rottenness and we want to clean this rottenness and this is what we have been doing. It doesn’t matter what vision you have but if you don’t have the money to execute, its as if you are doing nothing,” he said.

You Are Wasteful – Osun PDP Blast Gov. Aregbesola

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Osun chapter yesterday accused Governor Rauf Aregbesola of being wasteful and reckless in the management of the state’s resources.
The party, in a statement issued by Prince Diran Odeyemi, the PDP spokesperson in the state, on Sunday alleged that governor Aregbesola had squandered the sum of N100 million on a procession and new year party held for “select pensioners” in the state, as it cautioned him over continued harassment of ” Internally Displaced Pensioners” in camps.
The party in the statement said money wasted on the event, which it claimed the government organised, for a group called “Triangular Group of Pensioners” could pay part of the debt owed senior citizens in the state.
PDP said Governor Aregbesola insulted the sensibility of Osun people by using some of his employees to directly participate in organising the event in the name of pensioners,
The statement reads: “We have obtained the video of the event and analysed it, Many officials of Bureau of Communication and Strategy, office of the governor of Osun, were actively involved in managing the event, so also many APC members.
“One Rasheed Mabayoje, an employee of Aregbesola was seen in the video manipulating drones used to capture images during the event, also, official photographers of Ogbeni were also sighted fully involved in the proceedings.
“Who paid for canopies, public address system, DSS escort, police and civil defence men that provided security during the event? We learnt for logistics, security, uniforms for the participants, (10 pensioners and 90 APC members dressed as pensioners) and their stipend, a sum of N100 million was expended.
“What kind of a governor would prefer an hurriedly conceived, image laundry event to paying the dying, pauperized pensioners in Osun? We hope higher authorities in the country are monitoring the situation.
“We also call on IGP and DG DSS to call their men in Osun to order as we have confirmed they have launched manhunt for pensioners participating in the camp,” the statement reads.
