“A declaration that officers of the 1st defendants breached in their duty to the late Ifedolapo Racheal Oladepo by their failure to refer the deceased to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital when the adequate facilities to cater for the deceased’s health condition were not available at the NYSC Kano Orientation Camp Clinic.”

The principals, staff and students of Government Girls Secondary School Daura, the hometown of President Muhammadu Buhari, were full of excitement as a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Franklin Onwubiko donated set of class room seats to the school.

The epoch event attracted the Emir of Daura Umar Farouk Umar who was represented by Alh. Rabe Musa Maiadua and Alh. Abba Yahaya Baure, the Honourable member representing Daura in the state House of Assembly, Hon. Nasiru Yahaya, representative of the paramilitaries in the zone, the Zonal Inspector of NYSC, Daura Mr. Oketade Ifeoluwa, principals of both Junior and secondary section of the school, Corps members serving in the zone as well as students of the school.

In his address, Franklin Onwubiko, described the day as one of the turning points in his life. In his words, "I must say that today is an important day in my life as my dream to becoming a philanthropist has actually commenced. On a fateful day, I was moved to tears when I noticed students actually sat on bare floor in some classrooms. I thought of what to do, I had no money in my account. This became a burden and was committed to ameliorating the plight of the students.

"I wrote letters to people I could reach, but got no reply initially. "A million thanks to the oil magnate and CEO of Capital Oil and Gas, Chief Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, who in his kind disposition and love for young people desirous of change in their society, decided to make this dream a reality. It's one thing to nurture a project and an entirely different thing to have someone not just believe in you but go out of their way to support the idea bearer. He's indeed a pillar, a blessing to this generation and a great inspiration". God bless you immensely Sir", he said.

Franklin, a graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka called on well meaning individuals in the state to lend support to the growing academic needs of various institutions of learning in Katsina State.

Hear him, "What I've done today is very minute compared to the growing needs of this school and other schools in Daura, hence, I call on good spirited individuals from this community and beyond to see Education as a collective responsibility. I solicit for your support in any measure."

Urging his fellow Corps members to take a cue from his ingenuity, the Anambra born said, "To my fellow Corps members, I'd leave with this piece of word from the amiable DG of NYSC, General Kazaure, “I want to assure you that the people of the north are peaceful and friendly. Keep an open mind and give it a chance and a trial. Your posting is not by mistake, stay here and make some impact on the people of the state.”

Earlier in his remarks, Hon. Yahaya commended the Corps member for his love and passion in his service to his fatherland. He urged others to emulate him.

One of the representatives of the Emir, Alh. Baure while commending the Corps member prayed for the continued sustenance of the program as it has encouraged peace and unity in the country. He called on the Corps members to borrow a leaf from him in leaving a legacy behind wherever they are serving. He advised them to see the scheme as an avenue to affect lives even in the little possible way. The Zonal inspector expressed his happiness over the completion of the project, describing it as the right way to go as long as NYSC is concerned.

In her vote of thanks, the principal of the school, Hajia Raulah Lawal who was visibly elated thanked the benefactor for coming to the aid of the school. According to her, the donation would go a long way in solving the most pressing need of the school. She prayed God to bless the Corps member, while calling others to imbibe a life of legacy which the young man is living.

In would be recalled that the Corps member had flagged off a sickle cell disease awareness campaign in secondary schools in the zone the previous day, which according to him was targeted at sensitizing the students on the need to go for genotype tests before proceeding for marriage. According to Franklin, at least 5 senior secondary schools have been mapped out for the project. He disclosed that the project would run throughout the month of march before his passing out parade in April.

Serving Corper Flogged And Beaten For Punishing A Child Of A Rich Man In Zamfara State

Cry Of A Corper Brutalized In Zamfara
WHO WILL HEAR, AND NOT CRY?

The entire corps members serving in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara state are bleeding out purple blood. Our hearts are thumping out: strong rhythms of pain. Our dignity has been trampled and mangled with reckless impunity. God!

Today a corps member, Michael, serving his fatherland through sweat and bile; rough roads, hunger, merciless weather; and the shame of 19800 in the face of a smothering economy. Michael---serving in Nasara Standard Academy perceived as the shining light in a tottering secondary education system in Kaura Namoda--- was today brutalised, manhandled and reduced to nothingness by a brainless team comprising of the richest man in Kaura Namoda and his equally wanton boys. What was his crime?

Michael had punished his student who happens to be this man's ward. A simple kneel down. Michael who had nurtured these block heads with patience and love. Michael, who had taught with empty stomach till letters on the chalkboard danced like rampant music notes before his eyes. For all of us like Michael, who have stretched the capacities of our strengths and sensibilities to serve a stifling system. For all the ' under the sun and in the rain', what have we gotten as reward?

This notorious man, clenching his cash ridden fists, recruits the help of the police and in that shameless trotting of Zombies, storms Nasara Academy to crucify Michael like a criminal. He was punched like a sack of millet and stripped of humanity. He was beaten, beaten, and again beaten like he stole karats of gold in a jungle market. O God! My fingers are itching, and it's like they will drip blood. Michael was driven to the Police Station where the real torture awaited him.

They removed what was left of his pride as a Man serving his country. Then, they flogged and flogged him, and when their energy sapped out, the Evil of a man threw wads of naira notes about, and refueled their animalism. Michael was a heap of sorrow and a container of hot painful tears. As some of Michael's colleagues arrived and tried to raise their voices against the escalating reign of heartlessness; the Police men, some apparently drunk, threatened with pointed rifles, slapping and pushing them....

Hear me if you are a corps member in Kaura Namoda! We have been abused to our bones. We are now just remnants of pride sliced into irredeemable pieces. Our hearts have been pierced by hot pellets of searing pain. Our heads are now buried in shame. The little essence of our ghostly existence has been thoroughly erased. We are now empty, just plain empty.

Who will hear this and not cry? How can we move about when our sinews are depleted? Who will walk the long and dusty paths to schools to teach? Who will serve the masters under a sun that burns through skin and fluid? Who will hear this and not cry?

Nothing has been done. The engineer of this massive evil is an untouchable. A stinkingly rich sacred goat. He has played ping pong with our dignity and thinks he will get away with it because he is rich. Because our society is rotten and deceased of sense. Because our policeman are a bunch of kitted area boys. Because 'money' has shredded the spines of our moral make-up.

Michael is lying in a police cell, writhing in raw pain---- a soul beaten beyond repair. He has been physically wounded but more serious is the mental injury. But he is not alone. We are all wounded like Michael and our soul is burning from strife. Who will hear this and not cry? We therefore call on:

The state Government;
The State Coordinator NYSC;
The Emir of Kaura Namoda;
The Commissioner of Police;

Every Khaki and Jungle boot in Zamfara state and Nigeria as a whole. Let us roar and be heard. Tell the next person to tell another. Let our tales of woe reach the peak where justice crouches. The brutalisation of Michael in a land where he is vulnerable and hapless will not go without notice. Justice must be done. Corps members must be protected. Our dignity must be restored.

Female NYSC Member Says Wearing Trouser Is A Sin

A Nigerian fb user Christian Uzoukwu from Imo State Has Just blasted all female NYSC corpers who where trousers;
SHAME TO THOSE SISTERS WHO HAVE DENIED GOD IN THE NAME THAT THEY WANT TO OBEY MAN.
Someone commented
"Are you not being hypocritical with this your outlooks.does trouser,as you think offends God? Does NoT the Bible says we should obey Governments and them that have the rule over us?.the Bible didnt condemned trouser for a women nor did it condemned skirt for the men but transvestity.avoid cross dressing"
She fired back
Christian Uzoukwu;
Brother it is a piety that u lack the knowledge of God u profess. I will obey Govt when their laws are not against God’s law. Homosexual laws in America is not Government laws? So I should obey them because Bible says I should obey those in authority, Please u need God to forgive u.
 Why did the apostles face persecution and Crucifixions? Is not because they reject Govt laws that stop them to obey God? I guess u have left the voice God send in ur day? The person u call ur pastor saw this sister and praised God and wish that others will follow suit but u think she is a hypocritical person I thinking ur the person that need repentance hence ur not ashamed to comment negative things here.

Male and Female Corpers Caught Having S*x In Ogun Camp; Vacate Camp Immediately

Two Corpers have been decamped from the Ogun State NYSC Orientation Camp after both of them were caught having s*x. Skills Acquisition classes were happening on Wednesday 7th December at the Ogun State NYSC Orientation Camp.

Some corpers were being trained on how to enhance their writing and public speaking skills. Others were learning how to make beads, make-up, etc. There were the phone repairers, and a bunch of other skills acquisition classes.

Funny enough, at the back of the class, away from the crowd, a guy and a lady very busy 'sweating'.

Unfortunately for them, a soldier caught them pants down. They were marched to the commandant's office, and almost immediately they were decamped, which means that they have to re-apply for NYSC for next year - 2017.

Rivers Rerun: Corpers Refuse Participation

Corp members are avoiding to participate in the legislative rerun election scheduled for Saturday in Rivers State.

Investigation revealed that corps members who are being contacted to serve as ad hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission are refusing to participate in the election because of fear of possible violence during the election.

A source who confided in our correspondent said that the corps members were not showing the usual enthusiasm to participate in the election because of the accusations and counter-accusation between the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike , and INEC.

The source said, “Corps members being contacted by INEC to participate in the Rivers rerun election are showing reluctance to serve in the election.

“A good number of them are afraid that there could be violence during the election, and these are young men and women who don’t want to get killed because of some election.”

When our correspondent contacted the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of INEC, Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi, he said that it was only the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Rivers that could comment on that.

Reacting, the state REC, Mr. Aniedi Ikoiwak, said the job of corps members was voluntary, adding that those who did not want to work with INEC on election day were free to opt out.

Ikoiwak argued that some of the corps members’ parents might have told them not to take part in the rerun election, adding that such a situation would not affect the exercise on Saturday.

The state REC, however, pointed out that INEC would get more ad hoc workers from other government’s agencies if there was shortage in the number of corps members needed for the job on Saturday.

“From the beginning, the NYSC work is on a voluntary basis. We know that some of them might have been told by their parents not to be part of it (election).

“But if we have problem of shortage of manpower, we will complete them with workers from other government’s agencies and institutions,” he stressed.

Oyekanmi also agreed that most parents would be inclined to discourage their children from participating in the election because of what he described as the inflammatory comments by the Rivers State Government that plans had been perfected to rig the election.

As shared by Victor Jerry Emah...
A first class graduate of Petroleum Engineering from the University of Uyo, identified as Ukeme Asuquo, has died at the NYSC Camp in Zamfara state after suffering from Diarrhea yesterday, December 1st.

The deceased who was a brilliant student and won four scholarships as a student, never wanted to go for service in Zamfara and said he was destabilized the moment he received his call-up letter.

Read an emotional tribute written by Imo Pat, the deceased's friend:

"November 21st...... l helped you check your state of deployment online

November 22nd..... We went to itam market to buy our kits for the orientation exercise.

November 23rd.....We all departed Uyo to our respective camps.

December 1st...... I got the sad news that you're no more. What a ruthless you world.

Ikpa, whatever reason that made u leave this world so soon is unfair. Why now? But why now?

After all the stress and sleepless nights we went through together for 5years.

I really don't have words to express how felt when I heard the news about the your untimely demise........and I really can't understand why God allowed this one to happen.

Brotherly, though you are gone, I know your legacies and the impact you created will forever be remembered.
