Ogun State Police Officers Allegedly Chase Man to His Death (Photos)

The victim

A Nigerian man by name Kenny, has been allegedly chased to his death by Policemen attached to the Ajuwon Division in Ogun state.

An eyewitness, Jameson Atsu Torsu Snr revealed that the young man was eating his dinner at a noodles joint when the policemen stormed the area and tried to arrest people accusing them of being yahoo-boys. The young man while trying to escape jumped into a gutter and died.

Jameson Atsu Torsu Snr wrote: "This is how The Nigeria Police Force, Ajuwon Division kiled a young man. He was eating his dinner jeje ni (Noodles) at his normal joint when the policemen stormed the area arresting innocent able bodied men all in the name of clearing the community off 'yahoo boys'.

He was arrested in the afternoon and had to part with#10,000 before he was released.
Now, as he tried resisting another arrest again (in the evening), they tried forcing him and he ran away and unfortunately for him,he tried jumping over the gutter but ended up being stucked and died.

The policemen told his friends who could hve called for help that Kenny's been arrested and he's in their bus and it prevented the guys from even noticing that their friend was already dead.
This guy was in this same position till around 10am this morning (sunday) before an excavator took away that slab. That was way too long and Kenny died a horrible death.

Mind you, Kenny's not a criminal as you may think. He's a well known Welder all around Olambe, Ogun state.
He's the only one taking care of his parents and now that he's gone who will??

Gbenga Daniel Is Irrelevant, Afraid Of Shadows – Kashamu

gbenga daniel

The Senator representing Ogun East, Buruji Kashamu, has said he does not care if the former Governor of Ogun state, Gbenga Daniel, exists.

Daniel had written to the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, alleging that Kashamu sent thugs to assassinate him in his Abuja residence.
Kashamu has described the allegations as a “hoax” and described Daniel as “the accuser, the investigator, prosecutor and judge” in his case against him.
A statement released by the Senator’s spokesman, Austin Oniyokor, read: “Pray, why would Senator Kashamu go after a man who is at the twilight of his political career?”
“He is desperate to score a cheap political point and seek relevance for his dimming political career, he has to raise the false alarm and pin it on someone who does not even care if he exists.
“By the grace of God, the Distinguished Senator Buruji Kashamu is PDP’s highest political office holder in Ogun state despite the OGD’s (Daniel) efforts to make him lose the election.
“So, why would he want to attack a former governor who has lost political relevance six years after leaving office? Is OGD the only former governor in Ogun state?”
The statement added that while Ogun “was under the siege of violence and politically-motivated killings” during OGD’s reign as governor, Kashamu “fights his political battles in the court of law and public opinion using his God-given resources.”
It noted that Kashamu, “does not” have any record of violence since he joined partisan politics – “a Spartan record OGD cannot boast of.”
“Clearly, OGD is hallucinating and afraid of his shadows. Otherwise, what would have been expected of sane mind was to report the incident to the police and allow them to do their job of investigating the incident,” it read.
“In doing this, he has assumed the role of the accuser, investigator and prosecutor or judge in his own case. What a childish way to play cheap politics!”

Buruji Kashamu Is Planning To Kill Me — Gbenga Daniel Raises Alarm

kashamu and gbenga daniel

A former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris; and the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Mr. Lawal Daura, over an alleged plan to assassinate him.

According to The Punch, Daniel, in the petition, accused a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and the Senator representing Ogun East, Senator Buruji Kashamu, of being behind the alleged plot.

Daniel in the petition, titled, “Assassination Attempt on my Person; Main Suspect, Senator Buruji Kashamu,” said that five hefty men, two of whom were in military uniforms and three others in black clothes, were at his residence in Maitama, Abuja on Thursday around 9:13 pm, and asked that the gate be opened for them.

The petition read in part, “The gatekeeper peeped through the pedestrian gate, asking for their identities and mission, they refused to wind down their car window. The gatekeeper then opened the pedestrian gate to continue with his enquiries.

“They asked for his boss ‘OGD’ (the acronym for my full name, Otunba Gbenga Daniel) and he told them that I was not at home. The five men instantly alighted from the car and pushed the gatekeeper inside the compound. They started beating him, saying he was lying and that they had information that I was at home.

“They thereafter asked him how many policemen were in the house and he told them that there were five. They asked him to show them where the policemen were. He led them to the Boys’ Quarters, where they found one of the policemen lying down. Then they asked for his service gun.

“He told them that it was not with him, then they pushed him inside the toilet and locked the door. They returned to the gatekeeper and told him to start showing them round the house, and where the other policemen were. They insisted that they had accurate information that ‘OGD’ was in Abuja and at home.”

He said that the alleged marauders were armed with pistols or shotguns, while one of them, who allegedly had a bigger gun, stood at the gate to watch as the operation continued.

He also alleged that Kashamu was the number one suspect in the alleged plan to kill him, adding that those sent to kill him were not aware that he had left Abuja for Ibadan to attend a political meeting.

He said the petition was written to alert the “the police authorities about the evil intention of Senator Buruji Kashamu” and to request for additional security protection.

“I want to inform the Nigeria Police and security agencies that they should put Buruji Kashamu on security watch list and under strict surveillance.”

Kashamu has, however, denied the allegation, accusing the former governor of having a sinister plot against him. He said Daniel could be using the petition to cover up an alleged plan to later attack him.

Kashamu, however, told our correspondent that Daniel was lying, saying he had never been involved in violence in his life.

He said, “I have never been involved in any violence. It is Daniel who is into violence. He is merely playing politics, and his actions are because of Ogun and South-West politics and the PDP.

“I was aware that he was at Ibadan with the Chairman of the PDP National Caretaker Committee, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, while  I was in my office in Lagos. He knows my house and we have been to each other’s houses on many occasions.

“The petition is all lies. It doesn’t make sense at all. I hope he’s not planning to attack and kill me. He could be using this as an opportunity to kill me. I can’t kill or be involved in any crisis, but I can only use the courts to protect myself. Daniel knows this.”

The senator called on the security agencies to investigate the claim by the former governor, adding that at the end of the day, the truth would prevail.

Hon. Ladi Adebutu 2019 Aspiration Is Baseless

Ladi Adebutu
Ladi Adebutu
Charity they say begins at home, gone are the days when politicians sees themselves as semi-god, believing they can manipulate people with stipends as electioneering process approaches, surely all man has a price but not all man is for sale.

The aspiration of HON. LADI ADEBUTU who is presently representing Remo Federal Constituency at the hallow chamber, for Governor of our prestigious state called for sober reflection, we are part of his campaign team in 2015, his victory then was a collective effort of the youth/students which the name of the EMANCIPATORS GROUP cant be found wanting, His father's good name gave us bulk of votes, our day and night campaign was also channel to redeem his name, which was soiled as a result of his clueless personality and habitual outrageous outburst at his followers and elders.
To be candid, Hon. LADI Adebutu lacks attitude and altitude.

Having been elected as Honorable of our constituency, there are 3 campuses within his constituency (OOU SAGAMU CAMPUS, OOU IKENNE CAMPUS GATEWAY POLY SAAPADE), he never execute a single project or honor a courtesy call from any of the students leaders in his constituency,as learned as he claimed to be, he value touts, okada riders above to the students constituency, there are many areas of intervention where we. Need him. He should emulate his colleagues like Hon. Kehinde Odeneye of ijebu central constituency.

In addition, Hon. LADI ADEBUTU political instantaneous statement with fake promises to his supporters before the election is now crystal clear to the blind, Hon. LADI ADEBUTU lacks retentive memory of who are with him before now, he only spend out of focus, extravagantly to the wrong zone.

Election of 2019 won't longer go like a tea party, but base on achievement, good reputation and commitment. We are saying capital NO to Hon.LADI ADEBUTU for Governor, he who neglected his constituency cannot maintain a bigger one talk less of a state. At the appropriate time we shall embark on house to house sensitization, so our people won't fall victim again.
We are not scared of his dark angels and foot soldiers, If we die, LADI is involved.

51 Year Old Housewife Dies As Balcony Collapse In Ogun State

A 51 year old mother, Mrs. Modupe Bankole lost her life after concrete balcony of a storeyed building collapsed on her in the Olomore, area of Abeokuta.

Modupe, a mother of three, was said to be having a siesta on the frontage of the house, when the slabs gave way on Saturday, crushing her.

She was said to have sustained injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where she later died.

It was learnt that the incident forced some of the tenants in the 20-room-storeyed building to pack out for alternative accommodation, saying that the entire building might give way.

At the scene on Monday, some tenants were seen packing their belongings out of the building.

The husband of the victim, Mr. Samuel Bankole, a teacher at the Army Children School, Lafenwa, Abeokuta, said they had been living in the building for 12 years.

He explained that he was preparing his lesson note when the incident happened. He said he equally escaped death by a whisker.

He said, “The owner of the building died about two and half years ago and the house is being managed by a caretaker.

“My wife told me that she was going to prepare food. After she had finished cooking, she took a small mat and a pillow and spread it out to take fresh air.

“I was preparing my lesson note that time. I told her that when I finished writing, I would join her.

“My last born came back from his place of apprenticeship and even slept beside the mother. He later left to see a friend. Shortly after, I heard the sound of the collapsed balcony. I believe my wife was hit by broken blocks from the structure.”

The Permanent Secretary, Ogun State Ministry of Urban and Physical Planning, Mrs. Yetunde Dina, who visited the scene, said the state government would investigate what caused the collapse.

She said, “The remaining structure may be pulled down if found defective.”

about ten buses conveying students/comrades left together at the campus gate heading to abk gov‘s office, we were nearby to kobape, all of a sudden the tyre of one of the buses bursted , it stumbled twice before we could know what has happened things has turned tupsy-survy.
it so sadden that bruises covers the body of the accident victims but it so unfortunate that one of humble tj‘s arm was outside before the accident occured ,we lost his right arm to the accident,we rushed him down to emergency hall @ federal medical centre idi aba abk, the university management and tasued alumni came to our rescue before the doctor unfolded to us that fashina olatunji has left the world

#NANSOGUN: The Jubilation Of Injustice Over Justice Is Temporal

BEING THE POSITION PAPER ISSUED AT THE END OF NANS OGUN JCC 2017 CONVENTION
THE JUBILATION OF INJUSTICE OVER JUSTICE IS TEMPORAL
The convention of NANS OGUN JCC started like comic relief rehearsal, whose script had been written in a political party secretariat before the presentation to the anxious spectators who have been looking forward for an independent NANS OGUN JCC, free from the control of the state government, A NANS leadership to be decided by genuine Students Union Presidents, a purposeful one that will grant Ogun students liberation and solidarity at all course of struggle.
I was nominated as the convention chairman by the Students Union President of Tasued, seconded by the Students Union President of AAP, This caught the oppressor of Ogun Students unaware, they quickly resolved to open ballot to scare the SUG Presidents, yet I won 8 out of 13 votes of the Senators..
Meanwhile armed policemen held me apprehended at the University gate, over hundreds of students in ogun state campuses could testify to this, before the cult groups led by Junior came to whisked me away while I was addressing the teeming crowd on the situation report we got inside by the Senators..
They denied a dully elected convention chairman into the convention ground just because he is a threat to injustice, he is a freedom fighter and he is not an associate to their evil plan to mortgage the future of Ogun state Students. I have said it on different fora, that you wouldn't understand their hatred towards me any time I cried out when my life is under threat, Now they have showcase it to the world.
Firstly, as the dully elected convention chairman of NANS OGUN JCC 2017 convention, all threat motivated election, APC packaged convention done at FUNAAB are hereby declared null and void..

Secondly, the presence of Hon. Adeyemi Harrison, a state Assembly man representing Ogun waterside constituency, at the convention ground is uncalled for, He openly bribed the DSS and POLICE MEN to deliver the state anointed candidate by all means, He was assisted by an incompetent SA to Governor Amosun on Students affairs Clement Olusegun who find joy in manipulating Students mandate..
Finally, I hereby legitimize the convergence of the underslisted students Union Presidents at NUJ Iwe iroyin to take their future by their own hands. By the power conferred on me as the duly elected 2017 Convention Chairman, I hereby endorse the outcome of their election..

COM. MABUNMI TAYO (OOU SUG PRESIDENT)
COM. SANNI RAMON (TASUED SUG PRESIDENT)
COM. ISRAEL BIODUN (AAP SUG PRESIDENT)
COM. OLASUNKAMI ADEMOKUN (FPI SUG PRESIDENT)
COM. FOLARIN ABDUL HAKEEM (FCE SUG PRESIDENT)
COM. FOLAGBADE ALADE (OSSCA SUG PRESIDENT)
COM. OKE ADEWUNMI (GATEWAY SAAPADE REPRESENTATIVE)
I aligned myself with the canopy of justice and therefore pitch my tent with you.
The day of reckoning is here as I recall vividly in 2009 when I was the SUG PRESIDENT of TASCE OMU IJEBU who hosted the convention that produced clement which was later nullified by the then state machinery and Com. Adeyemi was recognized, I could remember I was the only senator that stood for justice by extension, clement olusegun to the last. Thus, he gave me the name I still stand by today, THE LAST MAN STANDING.
Poor Clement who benefited from justice is now leading miscreants to kill students movement? what an irony of life..
Clement convention was conducted with just only 5 SUG PRESIDENTS because we perceived the state had interest then we acted fast and took it up. We survived lots of threat, some of us were suspended from school, results withheld but at the end we are happy we stood for what we believe in..
When a state government manipulate students election with threat, kidnapping and oppression, the fools jubilate, but when the Gallant SUG PRESIDENTS decided to take the future by their own hands, the fools term it faction.
Someone who can not even spell the word faction properly, it is faction not "FRACTION"....
Call me names, Christian me with unprinted eulogy, The faithful man is always the enemy of the world..
Join me as I say a big congratulations to the duly elected, Joint Campus Committee Chairman, NANS OGUN state axis.
Congratulations to Com. Aluta Thunder and his team,
Take it or leave it, criticize us, say whatever you like. History will surely absolve us.
Sincerely Yours

Amosun Assures Protesting Tasued Students Of Govt Intervention

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun yesterday assured protesting students of the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, that his government would interface with management of the institution towards resolving what they described as unacceptable policies of the school authority.
Addressing the students at the M.K.O Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, Amosun said even though most of the issues raised by the students are administrative, the government would intervene and seek lasting solution to them.
The governor, who had joined the students on the street and walked with them to the stadium, revealed that education in the state’s public primary and secondary schools is free but however added that “education in our tertiary institutions cannot be free, even though, we can subsidise it.”
He said there was no basis for comparison of the Pa Obafemi Awolowo era of free education with that of the present government, because “the population then cannot be compared with what we have now.”
On the alleged nonpayment of subvention to the school, Amosun stated that, even though the subvention had been reduced, due to the dwindling resources of the state, it has always been paid regularly.
Earlier, the Students Union President, Sunny Raman Adeyemi spoke on the challenges of the students, which included increment in acceptance, registration and vocational training fees.

Students, who spoke to the media said they were satisfied with the assurances of the governor, who according to them addressed them as a father.
