'Why President Buhari Sent Soldiers To ‘Assassinate Me’ – Nnamdi Kanu

buhari and nnmadi kanu

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has alleged that the soldiers who held him hostage in his house were acting on the order of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Kanu claimed that Buhari gave the “Hausa, Fulani” soldiers’ order to assassinate him because he “strongly believe” and fight for the “liberation of Biafran people.”

Speaking through IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, in a statement sent to DAILY POST, Kanu claimed that the Nigerian Army in a bid to perfect the assassination plot had attacked his convoy at “Ubakala junction on his way for an official assignment.”

The statement reads, “We the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) and it’s leadership worldwide under the command and leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu the director Radio and Biafra television wish to bring to the attention of well-meaning Nigerians and the entire world that Nigeria Government led by Major General Muhammadu Buhari and his core Hausa fulani dominated jihadist army and Police in Nigerian uniforms have been drafted to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s house in Afaraukwu Ibeku Umuahia Abia State.

“The jihadist soldiers in Nigerian Army and Police uniforms surrounded our leader’s house today been 12th September 2017 with the instructions from Major General Muhammadu Buhari and those cabals in Aso Rock to assassinate Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and other IPOB members who strongly believe and fight in the struggle for the liberation of Biafran people.

“Right now, there is much tensions in Umuahia, the home town of Mazi Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The Nigerian federal high in collaboration with the federal government of Nigeria led by Major General Muhammadu Buhari seized Kanu’s traveling documents because they wanted to kill him in Nigeria, this they have shown. But the killing of unarmed civilians in Biafranland including Mazi Nnamdi Kanu must not be accepted by Biafrans both home and in diaspora.

“The Nigerian soldiers drafted to Biafranland to assassinate Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and other members of IPOB mainly came from the core North of Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebby, Gigawa, Kano, Kaduna and Kastina states. On 10th September been Sunday the Nigerian Army killed our members in Umuahia, yesterday been Monday 11th of September 2017 the jihadist soldiers in Nigerian Army uniform attacked Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s convoy at Ubakala junction on his way going for an official assignment. The Nigerian Army fired live bullets at his vehicle including his convoy.”

The statement said the Operation Python Dance exercise had turned the once peace region of South East into a dangerous zone.

This was as IPOB claimed that Buhari ordered soldiers under the exercise to harass and intimidate Igbos donning Biafra insignias.

“It’s a pity that in a democratic setting like this one in Nigeria can turn South Eastern Region into a war. Precisely the peaceful area of Ubakala junction, Isi Gate and Ibeku Nnamdi Kanu’s home town has become a dangerous zone since the declaration of infamous OPERATION PYTHON DANCE in the south East.

“We are on the know that Hausa-Fulani jihadist terrorists in Nigerian military uniform and regalia were sent by Major General Muhammadu to intimidate, harass and kill Biafrans in large numbers and not to fight kidnappers, armed robbers and cultists.

“The Operation Python Dance 11 are now seriously embarking on forceful abduction of Biafrans, brutalizing any anybody seen with Biafra insignia whether it is in your vehicle or houses. IPOB is putting the world on notice that the Nigerian Hausa-Fulani dominated government in a well organised plan to kill our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Biafrans through the lunching of OPERATION PYTHON DANCE 11 in the south Eastern part of Nigeria.

“These plots to assassinate our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in a broad daylight will trigger a catastrophic situation in Nigeria and parts of Nigeria, if they succeed in their evil plots,” the statement added.

“How We Plan To Cripple Nigeria, If Nnamdi Kanu Is Not Released In 7 Days” – MASSOB

A splinter group of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign States of Biafra (MASSOB) has said it will deploy civil protests similar to the kind used during the emancipation struggle of Ghandi of India & Martin Luther King Jr. to cripple Nigeria, if Nnamdi Kanu is not released in seven days.
The group disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday by its Director of Information, Comrade Uche Madu,
According to Madu, MASSOB’s action will be sequel to the nationwide protest embarked by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Friday, demanding the release of Kanu and pledged full support to the protest by the IPOB, stressing that they would not relent till their agitation is actualized.
He also expressed regrets that the Southeast governors, Igbo senators, monarchs as well as leaders are not identifying with the MASSOB struggle.
The MASSOB Information Director also warned that his group would hold the Igbo governors and senators to account, if Kanu is not released.
He said: “MASSOB will unleash the potency of non-violence which includes civil disobedience, civil unrest, non-cooperation, civil/massive boycott as was done during the emancipation struggle of Ghandi of India & Martin Luther King junior.
“For the sake of Biafra’s love for our fatherland and the spirit of brotherhood, MASSOB shall continue to identify with genuine and selfless Biafra agitation as showcased in Nnamdi Kanu.
“Only some few disgruntled elements and Abuja errand boys from eastern region are always against Biafra. MASSOB shall hold Igbo governors, National Assembly members, traditional rulers and opinion leaders heavily responsible if Nnamdi Kanu is not released coming week.
“The continued detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will worsen the already fragile security situation in Nigeria. Factional MASSOB, IPOB and other genuine groups are now ready,”

Court Dismisses Six Charges Against Nnamdi Kanu

Six of the 11 charges filed by the Federal Government against the incarcerated leader of the leader of the Independent People of the Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu were on Wednesday, March 1 dismissed by Justice Binta Nyako of the federal high court, Abuja.
The charges dismissed bordered on “ownership of unlawful society, illegal importation of radio transmitters and researching on how to make improvised explosive devices”.
A magistrate court in Abuja had thrown out similar charges in 2015.
Nyako said she took the decision to quash the six charges because the prosecutor did not present any evidence.
However, she held that Kanu would be re-arraigned on a five count of treasonable felony.
On January 12, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu’s lawyer, had prayed the court to quash the charges against his client because he had not committed any offence by agitating for Biafra.
On Tuesday, Chukwuma Soludo, former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN); Patrick Utomi, a professor of economics, and some Igbo leaders called for the immediate release of Kanu.
They described his trial as persecution, and they asked the government to release him for the sake of engineering a new Nigeria.

Buhari Should Dare Not Visit South East -- IPOB threaten

The Indigenous People of Biafra, on Monday, warned President Muhammadu Buhari to ‘stay clear’ of the South-East.

The President is slated to attend the opening session of the South-East Economic Summit in Enugu on Thursday.

But IPOB, in a statement entitled, ‘Muhammadu Buhari must stay clear of Biafra land or have himself to blame for the outcome of any such visit,’ told the President to cancel the planned visit.

The secessionist group, in a statement signed by its spokespersons, Emma Nmezu (a lawyer) and Dr. Clifford Iroanya, equally warned Igbo governors and other political leaders against hosting Buhari in Enugu or any other part of the South-East.

IPOB warned that the Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and other leaders should be held responsible for any breakdown of law and order in the state if Buhari went ahead to visit the Coal City on December 22.

The pro-Biafran group alleged that Buhari was a ‘killer and persecutor’ of Igbo and should not be allowed to visit the geopolitical zone.

The statement read in part, “The Indigenous People of Biafra have received information that Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) will be visiting Enugu on the 22nd of December, 2016. We object totally to this visit.

“We warn that any governor or Igbo politician that receives Buhari in Enugu will have himself or herself to blame. We make it public that should there be a breakdown of law and order in Enugu on the 22nd of December, greedy Igbo politicians will have themselves to blame.

“Any Igbo governor or politician that is found among those hobnobbing with Buhari becomes an enemy of the people and shall pay dearly for it.”

IPOB also demanded an investigation into the Amnesty International report, which accused the army of mass killing of Biafra activists.

The group urged all pro-Biafra activists to be in Enugu on December 22 to show their anger over Buhari’s visit.

“We are calling on all Biafrans to descend on Enugu on the said date of December 22, 2016 to show our anger and displeasure at this attempt by some greedy Igbo men to insult the memory of our glorious dead and those still in detention with our leader.
