Nigerians Will Re-Elect Buhari In Next Presidential Election – Oshiomhole

Edo ex-governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has expressed optimism that President Muhammadu Buhari will be ‘conveniently re-elected’ if he seeks for a second term in office come 2019.

By 2019, he said, the Buhari administration would have further consolidated on its numerous giant strides so much so that comparisons would then be made to Nigerians as to the messy situation the country was in 2015 and the changes that were recorded afterwards.

In his first interview granted since leaving office, the former Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) president, said against the rhetoric of critics who no longer have access to stolen and cheap money, the truth remains that the country was gradually undergoing an unprecedented change that has put it in the path for greatness and real success.

“If the People’s Democratic Party were still at the center, I bet you it would have been case closed for Nigeria. Boko Haram got up to Benin and had a base in Kogi. Who wants to return to that path? Who wants to go back to the era when Nigeria Army were said to be running away from battle? Who wants to return to the era of abuse of subsidy?

“Again, in all fairness who wants to return to the era of crude oil theft? I had asked former President Jonathan as a member of the security committee with governors how crude oil were been stolen in tankers and the Nigerian Navy was not aware? Were the tankers flying? Why are we not hearing such stories again,” he queried.

“Who was in government when companies such as Michelin, Dunlop, and NestlĂ© etc started relocating to Ghana? Here in Nigeria, a government spent $16bn on power and at the end of spending the last dollar the country degeneration rated from from 4,000 megawatts to 2000 megawatts.

“Who wants to return to an era where in the name of privatization, the PDP government handed over sensitive national assets to brothers, friends and cronies who neither have the competence nor the wherewithal to invest in power distribution which has further compounded our problem today.

“So who wants to return to such time? So honestly for me, the facts and choice is clear ahead and of course will be in 2019,” the former Edo governor stated.

While welcoming the President back to the country, Comrade Oshiomhole praised the President on the way and manner he handled his vacation, saying it was unprecedented.

“President Buhari is not the first to fall ill, he just happens to be the first in the history of Nigeria to acknowledge that he was ill and hence going on vacation and also to seek medical attention.

“And as required by law, unlike in the past, he duly wrote to the National Assembly and requested that his vice acted as stipulated. What more did Nigerians expect, he queried.

Buhari, Oshiomole Helds Close Meeting At State House

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met behind closed-doors with the ex-governor of edo state, Adams Oshiomhole, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Oshiomhole visited the President for the first time since leaving office last November.

The ex-governor’s visit coincided with reports tipping him for the position of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), presently occupied by Babachir David Lawal, who is trying to clear his name from several alleged misconducts.

Oshiomhole is also being touted for a ministerial job by political analysts and opinion leaders in the country.

When State House correspondents asked him to speak on the purpose of his visit to the President, Oshiomhole said he was in the Villa to exchange pleasantries with President Buhari following the New Year celebration.

132 Year Old Woman Prays For Adams Oshiomole

Niger Delta is reporting that Madam Veronica Uloko, a 132 -year-old super-centenarian from Iyamho community, Etsako clan, Edo State, the hometown of the outgoing Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has uncovered the secret of the governor’s uncommon boldness and power.

Curiously, Madam Uloko, who is blind and can no longer walk, wants God to take her life because of the agony she was undergoing over the loss of three of her seven children, especially the 73-year-old son that died in August, this year.

She spoke to Niger Delta Voice, NDV, at Iyamho through her 71-year-old son, Obanor, who served as interpreter during the interview.

Officially, by the Guinness World Records, the oldest living person in the world is 116-year-old Italian, Emman Morano of Verbani in Italy.

Obanor, her son, who said his elder sister is 84 years old, informed us that the death of his elder brother affected the health of their mother, who does not want to live while her children die.

Commenting on Oshiomhole, she said: “Our people in Iyamho are not cowards and they live straight forward life, they do not cheat and they are very bold people and I think that is why God blesses us with long life and wisdom, including Oshiomhole, in Iyamho.”

True to her words, outgoing Governor Oshiomhole, indeed, served the state with exceptional heroism and prudence, mouthing it all the time that he was not a coward and would not be bullied by anybody.

He boasted that he uprooted what he described as entrenched political godfathers in the state because God did not give him spirit of cowardice.

Madam Uloko, who is excited by Oshimohole’s developmental strides in the state, said: “We are happy that only one man came to rescue us, not only our people, the entire Edo north and Edo state.

“God will bless Oshiomhole. When he was announced as the winner, I was dancing with one leg inside because I could not walk as an old woman.”

“I pray that Oshiomhole will get another big appointment when he leaves as governor. I thank Oshiomhole for what he has done for our people, when you come to our village, Iyamho; you will not recognize the place again, as people continue to tell me because I can no longer see. I have prayed for him and I will continue to pray for him because he made our people proud,” she added.

Asked how she feels at 132 years old, she asserted: “I am very happy that God gave me a long life, but since my son died, I have been praying to God to come and take my life. I cannot remain while my children are dying after getting old.”
