President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered an investigation into the allegations of violations of Law and due process made against the Secretary to the government of the federal (SGF), Mr. David Babachir Lawal, in the award of contracts under the presidential initiative on the North East (PINE)

The President also directed the suspension of the SGF from the office pending the outcome of the investigation

President Buhari Cancels Today's FEC Meeting

The Weekly Federal executive council meeting will not hold today, April 19, 2017.
The council which has Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, all ministers and some top presidential aides as members is chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Members meet weekly inside the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa.

Vanguard quoted the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, saying that the Easter holiday was a possible reason why the meeting did not hold

He said that memos were not circulated to the Ministers by the FEC secretariat.

“The staff on the Council secretariat resumed on Tuesday after the Easter. There was no time to prepare and circulate memos to ministers. By practice, the ministers receive council memos two or three days ahead of meetings because they must read them and sometimes undertake research. It is not a rubber stamp council. So everyone must prepare themselves well for debates”, he said.

Recall that President Buhari was absent at the last week’s meeting, fueling speculations that his health had deteriorated but the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, dispelled the speculation, saying he was hale and hearty.

A self-acclaimed Man of God shocked many after he burn down thousands of Bibles on Easter Money. The Pastor claims the Bible were misleading his congregation as it has been edited.

 It was gathered that Pastor Aloysius Bugingo, of the House of Prayer ministries, Kampala, Uganda, set tongues wagging after he ordered members of his congregation to gather thousands of Bibles. Bugingo set the Bibles on fire after claiming that the various versions of the Bible have been heavily edited, and were 'misleading' his congregation. His actions were heavily condemned by fellow Christians, some even claim he might face punishment from God.

The preacher's church is attended mostly by Makerere University students and the congregation boasts of a total number of about 6,000 people. Apart from burning the King James Version, the pastor who also owns Salt FM and TV station, set other versions including the New Testament and the Good News Bible on fire, after claiming to have omitted some verses.

Man Shot Three Dead While Screaming 'Allahu Akbar'

A man identified as Kori Ali Muhammed has been arrested by police officers in California, US for killing three white people while screaming ‘Allahu Akbar’

Report has it that Muhammad fired 16 shots at random in three different locations on Tuesday in Fresno, California at about 10:45 a.m, leading to the death of the death of the white men.

According to Fresno Police Department Chief, Jerry Dyer, the department apprehended Mohammed at the scene after two gunshots were detected through ShotSpotter.

Disclosing that several more gunshots were detected nearby, Dyer said a total of 16 rounds were fired in less than a minute in four different locations.

The police Chief disclosed that when California police arrested the suspect, officers witnessed him shouting “Allah Akbar.”

Dyer said Tuesday afternoon, adding that he has written anti-government sentiments on social media as well as posts saying that he does not like white people.

Speaking during a Press Conference, Dyer said he did not believe the murders were related to terrorism, adding that the shootings were “solely based on race.”
