The new state chairperson of Unity Party of Nigeria has debunked the speculation that she is not an indigene of ogun state.

Hon. Mrs Olufunmilayo Irede Ogini disclosed this during a media brief with journalists in Abeokuta, she explained that after her announcement as the newly elected Chairperson Ogun State Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) by the party on Saturday, 2nd of April, 2016, she said some members still engaged in campaign of calumny saying that she received false allegation against her personality.

Hon Mrs Oginni maintained that she is an indigene of ogun state precisely from Ajilete town in Yewa South Local Government area of Ogun State explaining that her father was fondly called Baba the Governor and she is from the family house of Ajayi- ire/obanla family, Though her husband is a native of Osun State.

Meanwhile, a lot of rumour has been spreading about that she was imposed by Otunba Rotimi Paseda on all members of the party, while speaking with her, she made us understand that the rumour is not true and can only be called rumour.

She said her emergence came out of her hard work and dedication to the party, she said she was elected after the congress of the council of elders of the party, where the big wigs of the party were there to elect her after thorough screening and recommendations.

The chairperson was the former UPN House of Representatives candidate for Yewa- ipokia federal constituency in the last general elections.
While speaking with newsmen, she affirmed the need for grassroots orientation and laid more emphasis on the massive publicity of the party, saying it is her utmost priority, Mrs ogini promised to include youths as one of her top agenda during the course of her chairmanship.

She reiterated on the need for all good and Progressive Ogun State citizens to support and join the Unity Party of Nigeria.
