Governor Akinwunmi Ambode tweeted
this image few minutes ago and wrote;
"This indigenous discovery of crude oil in Lagos has shown that with determination anything is possible in Nigeria."
In what looks like a milestone in
the history of the state, Governor Ambode tweeted the first image to confirm
that Lagos will now be one of oil producing states in Nigeria. Apart from Ondo
state, no other oil producing state in the southwest Nigeria. There have been
rumours of oil deposit in other states in Southwest; states like Ogun and Osun
have one time or the other in the recent past spoke on oil discovery in their
states.
The Governor further tweeted;

"With this discovery the three
Senatorial Districts in Lagos have all combined to open up the economic and
investment potentials of the State"
"From Lagos East axis we have the petrochemical refinery factory by the Dangote Group which will come on board by 2018."

If Lagos become oil producing state,
combined with the state as the commercial capital of Nigeria, Lagos may become
the Texas of Africa.
"From
Lagos West axis there is crude oil while the Lagos Central axis continues to
serve as the financial district of Nigeria", He wrote.
