I keep telling and reassuring everyone around me the importance and power of "positivity" - thinking positive.
I would love to have your attention for five minutes through this write up, it might be what you have been looking for in reaching that life changing decision, forever. Like they say, no condition is permanent - good or bad, change is constant!
Whenever my mind trances through the usefulness of "quiet time" (private time you spend alone thinking) in reaching life changing decisions, I do question myself of "if every human truly feels this way"? Talking to yourself and imagining what you wanted your life to look like in reality -- but after all efforts, you still find it so hard in reaching those goals.
Many have lived the most amazing part of their lives in illusion of "it will get better", but never did -- we blame our background, race and lately, education. We value paper qualifications more than personal/
That is the beginning of many failures that is currently denying you from making a headway in life.
In the year 2012, I took a decision that changed my life forever. The decision to leave Nigeria and start again. It was a selfish decision at the time but sometimes you need to be selfish to get to your goal in life. One of the mistakes me make in life is; We live most of our lives according to the dictates of others. I'm the process, the life changing decisions that should have changed us ended up ruining us -- we would then blame it all on God, destiny, race and background.
Failure has no family, success begets many acquaintances.
It was the year I knew I've had enough of struggling to scale a broken ladder of success in an environment that required you knowing someone that knows someone before your success could be determined. I had baggages that were enough to discourage me from proceeding - to them, it wasn't the best option but it was an option worth taking -- sensing my own hardline way of doing things, it was the only option they had to buy into.
Looking back today, I can confidently say, "God has been good to me". He has!
Many of us are wasting so much resources on acquiring education that we don't need, in other to get a good job that pays well but never exists - good as it sounded, have you done enough studies of the job availability in your area of residence to know which job pays well and recruiting before signing up for the current degree course you are running? If the answer is "No", then you are pursuing a wrong dream.
Don't get me wrong! Acquiring education is something I cherish a lot. I want to be a topnotch executive the world would at my prime. You need education to get that - the other way is to make yourself one.
I love seeing young people celebrating their education triumph. I'm more interested in what they would become after. As a blogger, I've had enough employment requests from my friends, asking to help them secure jobs, in which I know I'm handicapped in fulfilling - these are young Nigerians with good grades, spent so much money in acquiring -- all came to naught, for a fault that I would call, "theirs"!
This is a reality!
Many are already out of the country eking out a living in a an inexplainable way, after so much time through the school.
In this country, the basic education assured and compulsory for all citizens is primary and secondary education - it is the foundation you need to learn all that you need to function as a human being. You can decide to get a university or college degree in any endeavour of your choice if you so desire. But your environment would determine that - to be an entrepreneur or a scholar.
Many don't have to go to the university when they know they would perform better in craft and other technical areas -- without having to go through the university or colleges -- funny enough, they are those employing others who graduates from the universities.
Education is all you need to scale the hurdle of stagnation, no doubt -- but that is not limited to the classrooms. Creativity is another.
You can't do any of these if you are not positive.
Complaining is not even an option!
If you can make anything up in your head, why not try it with your hands?
Enough said, think about it!
To be continued...
