The Chairman of the All
Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta state, Jones Erue, has come hard on his
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, counterpart, Kingsley Esiso, for attributing the
current economic challenges trailing the country to the APC. He also did not
spare the administration of former President, Goodluck Jonathan in his
response.
Esiso had told PDP
Patriotic Ladies in Asaba yesterday that the APC-led Federal Government has
brought untold hardship, stressing that “They came with the mantra of change
that former President Goodluck Jonathan was not doing well but the reverse is
now the case. We will endure till 2019 to change the change.”
But speaking on Thursday
at an APC ward executive meeting convened by a former House of Representative
member, Hon Solomon Edoja at Kokori, Delta State, Erue who was represented by
the deputy chairman of the party, Cyril Ogodo, averred that it is totally wrong
for anyone to make such utterances against the APC.
While accusing the PDP
of stealing the treasuries of Delta State and federal government dry, Erue
said: “If President Goodluck Jonathan was still in power, fathers would have
been selling their children for them to get their daily bread.
“What Esiso should be
doing is to ask Governor Ifeanyi Okowa what he did with the N15billion bailout
fund received from the federal government since his assumption of office.
“Prior to the 2015
general election, local government workers in the state were owed over 8 months
salary backlog, was it Buhari too that caused that?
