
No fewer than five person has died following an accident that occurred on
the Lagos Third main land bridge inward Iyana Oworo Road.
The crash involved 3 vehicles which included a LAGBUS, Hilux truck
belonging to a local vigilante group and a Rover jeep.
Five persons were confirmed dead – three female adult and two children.
Five persons were also injured and were taken by LASAMBUS to the Trauma
Centre.
Lagos State Emergency Agency Response Unit said it had recovered the
vehicles, while the dead bodies had been taken by SEHMU to Mainland Hospital
Mortuary
LASEMA General Manager Mr. Michael Akindele said proper investigation
would be carried out on the cause of the accident by the relevant Government
Agencies.
He, however, advised motorists to prevent over speeding and also adhere
to all traffic rules and regulations to avoid such incident.
Agencies involved in the rescue operations were LASTMA, FRSC, Nigerian
Police, RRS
