An Oredo Magistrate Court has
sentenced one Deba Omogiate to two -year imprisonment for stealing the sum of
N200, 000.
Deba was accused of unlawfully obtaining the sum from Sammy Festus
under the guise of selling one Mercedes ML 2003 model care to him.
Police Prosecutor, Sergeant Thomas Ojo, informed the court that
the accused committed the offence on June 9, 2015, at Evbotubu Street in Benin,
Edo State.
He said the offence contravened section 419 and 390 (9) of the
criminal Code.
The Magistrate, Mrs. J.O. Ejale, sentenced the accused to two-
year imprisonment or an option of N100, 000 fine.
