Former CBN Governor who is now the Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammed Sanusi II, has
advised President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to seek the advice of top
economic experts in and out of government to find solution to the economic
crisis in the country.
Emir Sanusi spoke on Wednesday during the traditional
Sallah Durbar (Hawan Nasarawa) at the Government House, Kano.
The former governor of the Central Bank of
Nigeria, CBN, said now was the time to involve all forward-thinking individuals
to seek way out of the recession that had hit the country and seriously
affecting Nigerians.
Sanusi, however, urged wealthy Nigerians to
support the less-privileged in the society in order to alleviate their
sufferings.
He added that Nigerians, “irrespective of
religious beliefs and political inclinations, should continue to pray for
economic growth and development of the country”.
Sanusi also urged the people of Kano to remain
law-abiding and be their brother’s keeper irrespective of religion or ethnic
background.
Sanusi appealed to the state government to help
the people to acquire skills that would make them self-reliant.
