Inner source told Onenigeriablog.com that the police have analyzed Seun
Egbegbe's claims and other sides of the story and it appears there was no money
in the car that took him to Computer Village to buy as much as 9 iPhones.
Hence, Lagos State police command charged him to court for "stealing attempt".
Seun Egbeegbe was arraigned before an Ikeja magistrate court earlier on
Thursday, November 24 and was granted bail, with two sureties who have N2m in
their account, and property within Ikeja.
According to Encomium, the
controversial film maker was in a black and white buba and sokoto when he
appeared in court. He pleaded not guilty. The case was adjourned to February 8,
2017.
The theft case against Egbegbe was before Magistrate A.J. Atunwa at
Roseline Omotosho Court House in GRA Ikeja.
Recall that on Tuesday, November 22, Egbeegbe had been apprehended
after he reportedly fled with 9 iPhone handsets valued at over N2 million at
Computer Village, Ikeja. He was battered until police from Area F Command came.
He reportedly told the mob that he wanted to fetch the money from his vehicle
before the alarm. But no one believed his story.
As at the time of posting, it's unclear if he has been able to meet his
bail condition or still in custody.
