A man identified Oyediran Oladipupo shocked many after he stormed a bank
and began smashing car windshields and glass doors in Sango-Ota branch first
generation bank, Ogun state.
Security men had to step in and bring him under control as he was
prevented from barging into the bank to unleash mayhem.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident caused panic among bank
customers who had thought it was armed robbers.
Policemen from Sango Area Command stormed the bank and promptly
arrested him. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi,
confirmed the incident and said: “A man who was later identified as Oyediran
Oladipupo was said to have gone to the bank (name withheld) at Temidire in
Sango-Ota this afternoon.
“He was reported to have started smashing cars’ windshields and the
bank’s glass doors. The management of the bank had called on policemen from the
nearby Sango Police Station and the suspect was promptly arrested.
“When interrogated, the man said, ‘It’s God that sent me to do what I
did.'”
Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said the suspect would
be charged to court for malicious damage after investigation
