Statistics has revealed that an average Nigerian household
spend more on recharge cards than they did on household supplies
Household supplies include, soap, washing powder, petrol,
personal foods etc. According to a 2012/2013 survey report by the National
Bureau of Statistics (NBS) in collaboration with the world bank.
The report claimed that Nigerians collectively spent N499,8
billion monthly on recharge cards, this making recharge cards account for 72.3
percent of the expenses made by the sampled household monthly against the
combined 37 percent that cover food, personal care and household products
