" Let me
personally congratulate the Palms chairman, Mr. Tunde Amusan for bringing the
mall to Ogun state, his state of origin. I challenged him to bring the mall to
the state considering that he has done so in other parts of the country. I am
delighted that he responded to my call for this.
"This is the first one we are having in the state. Abeokuta
will follow shortly. Later, we will move to Ijebu-Ode, Ilaro, Sagamu and all of
the major cities in the state," the governor stated.
Speaking on the
mall's potentials, Amosun said the mall would bring development to the people
of the state
" I am happy
that this will bring development to our people in Ota. This one is deliberate
due to its proximity to Lagos. We want to capture all of the market in the
vicinity.
There is a lot of
activities that is coming up here. First, we are going to resuscitate the
hotel(Gateway Hotel, Ota). Everything has been well thought out. The first
phase which is the Palms is on now, the hotel will follow. Our service
apartments will follow as well and that is the way development should be. Our
commerce, industrial activities will improve and our people will be gainfully
employed," Amosun said.
Present at the
opening of the mall were some commissioners including; Lekan Adegbite (Works
and Housing), Modupe Mujota (Education, Science and Technology), Dayo Adeneye

State, they are over a thousand but what we have done is that we are looking at
companies that have invested between 200million dollars and over 2 billion
dollars, if you count we now have very close to one hundred and ten of those
companies.
?"So, I am
happy that Ogun State has finally joined other States with shopping malls like
this that is just like any other one in the world. This is confirming our
status as a mega city with things like this. Congratulations to Shoprite,
congratulations the Palms and so many others that will come to do
