A 28-year-old security guard has been
arrested in Lagos State for allegedly killing his colleague.
The suspect, Haruna Abubakar, was said to have cut the body of
the deceased into shreds, put his mutilated remains in a sack bag and dumped
same in the bush.
According to Vanguard, the suspect and victim are co-workers in
a farm in Ibeju Lekki area of the state. While the suspect worked as a security
guard, the victim worked as a herdsman.
Abubakar was arrested following a report by the victim’s brother
to the police about his disappearance.
Confirming the incident on Monday, the command spokesperson, SP
Dolapo Badmus, said, “On December 3, the suspect had an altercation with the
victim, who is about 27 years old.
“It resulted into a fight and in the process the suspect killed
the deceased with a dagger. Abubakar cut him into pieces, packed him in a sack
and dumped him in the bush.
“The brother to the deceased, one Adamu, reported the case of a
missing person to the police after his brother failed to return home after the
day’s work.
“The clues gathered by the police led to the arrest of the
suspect, who later confessed to the crime and led the operatives to where the
dismembered body was recovered.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP, Fatai Owoseni, has directed
that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and
Intelligence Department, SCIID, Panti, for further investigation and
prosecution.
