Three
years to the governorship election in Ogun State, a Senator
representing Lagos West, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola aka Yayi who is
believed would contest the coming governorship election seems not be leaving a
stone unturned as he may have adopted a secret approach to pouch
some loyalists of the incumbent governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun to his
side.
It was
gathered that the decision not to have confrontation with Amosun who is serving
his second and last term in office may have been to weaken the structure of the
governor.
Yayi who
is still a card carrying member of All Progressives Congress in Lagos state had
attempted to contest as a Senator in Ogun West Senatorial District on the
platform of APC, but was denied by Amosun.
It was
gathered that, Amosun did not only blocked his chance despite his huge
financial muscle, showed him the way out of the State which prompted him to
contest as a Senator in Lagos.
According
to an inner source, Yayi has crept into almost all the 20 Local Government
Areas and have allegedly induced some Amosun's loyalists who huge money.
He was
said to be considering another plan should in case he did not get the APC
ticket to contest for governor in Ogun state.
As at
the moment, Yayi has floated a political group tagged De Democrat and has
secretly launched it in all the local government areas of the state.
It was
gathered that, in some local governments including Ikenne many former loyalists
of Amosun were said to have declared their support for Yayi and had begun work
in earnest.
Some of
the loyalists of Amosun who had served as either Chairman or Special Adviser to
the Governor including former Chairman Ujebu-Ode local government, Hon
Rasak Daada, Special Adviser to Governor, simply identified
as Hon Kope, Hon Femi Odufowoka , Dr Odemuyiwa and Mr Fola kuti,
the son of Abusiedumari from Ijebu Igbo .
Others
are former Chairman Sagamu local government, Mrs Funmilayo Efuwape ,
Evangelist
J Ola Ifede, Hon Segun Ogunleye, Hon Idowu Ogunnubi, Yeye Odua who all
reportedly declared their support for Yayi along along with their
members.
Some of
the former loyalists of Amosun were quoted to have said that they
have a strong determination to ensure that everyone key into the Yayi Movement
drive which is targeted towards mass mobilization of passionate supporters and
followers alike. Our goal is to turn 'YAYI' into a household name.
Meanwhile,
there had been reports that about 200 former councilors from the 234 wards in
Ogun state were reported to have pledged their support for the Senator's 2019
ambition.
