1.
He was a former president of the National Union of Nigerian Students
(NUNS/NANS) during Obasanjo’s military regime.
2. Back then, Activist Segun Okeowo led
nationwide students protest against the Olusegun Obasanjo-led military
government in the late 1970s during the famous ‘Ali Must Go’ era.
3. He died at Olabisi
Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, at the age of 73.
4. During his life time, Pa
Segun Okeowo cautioned Nigerian youths against unwarranted criticisms, urging
them to engage in productive ventures.
5. Late Segun Okeowo was
missed for his doggedness, which he demonstrated when he led the students’
union in 1970s, insisting on the removal of then Federal Commissioner
forEducation, Col Ahmadu Ali (rtd) over 50 kobo daily meal increase.
6. Pa Segun Okeowo was the
chairman of Ogun State Teaching Service Commission, TSC, between 2003 to 2011.

7. Amosun, Gbenga Daniel

8. Pa Segun Okeowo is a
legendary fighter and true democrat.
9. Otunba gbenga Daniel
described him as a legendary freedom fighter who sacrificed his whole life in
the struggle for the emancipation of Nigerian students, youths as well as the
voiceless masses.

Voice of ALUTA” was dedicated to him, it consist a collection his of speeches,
lectures, essays, memoirs, words of wisdom, life and living of: Segun Kayode
Okeowo
