The unknown gunmen who had earlier stormed Nigerian Turiksh
International College, NTIC, located at Isheri, ogun to kidnapped five students
and three staffs have reported demanded a whooping sum of money form the
parents and the school management as condition to free the victims.
According to source, the kidnappers call the families of the victims and demanded
a whooping N1.2billion ransom.
Detective handling the case told the pressmen that the
kidnappers had called families of the abducted schoolgirls and Nigerian
officials demanding N100million ransom each. They also demanded N300million on
each of the two Turkish nationals among the victims.
“They have been using the victims’ phone numbers to call
their families. Each of the families was asked to pay N100 million. Whenever
the families try to negotiate, the kidnappers would end the call,” said a
security source, who would not want to be named.
It was learnt that Close Circuit Television (CCTV)
cameras at the school hostel have shown that the kidnappers wore masks. One of
the kidnappers, it was also gathered, wore skirt, but detectives suspect he is
a man.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State government has assured parents
and staff of the school that prompt action would be taken to ensure immediate
release of the kidnapped victims.
The kidnap incident was said to have occurred on the 9th
anniversary of the school.
It came barely three months after gunmen invaded Lagos
Model College in Epe and kidnapped four students, a vice principal and a
teacher.
